The Medical Marijuana Caregivers Association of El Dorado County (MMCA) was incorporated in 2004 as a California non-profit, mutual benefit corporation created to provide medical marijuana to qualified patients.

In 2008, the California Attorney General issued GUIDELINES FOR THE SECURITY AND NON-DIVERSION OF MARIJUANA GROWN FOR MEDICAL USE.

MMCA has adopted the Attorney General's Guidelines and adapted our bylaws to conform with those Guidelines.

MMCA is a free association of qualified medical marijauna patients and primary caregivers, as defined by the Guidelines, that collectively grows, processes, and distributes medical marijuana.

All associate members of the MMCA collective are verified and registered, along with their renewal dates with the MMCA corporate office. MMCA does not purchase from or sell to non-members. MMCA is a means for facilitating or coordinating transactions between members. Marijuana grown by MMCA for medical purposes may be:

          a)  Provided free to qualified patients and primary caregivers who are members of MMCA;

          b)  Provided in exchange for services rendered to MMCA;

          c)  Allocated based on fees that are reasonably calculated to cover overhead costs; or

          d)  Any combination of the above.

Members of MMCA sign an agreement not to distribute marijuana to non-members and not use the marijuana for other than medical purposes. Members whose physician recommendation are invalid or have expired, or caught diverting marijuana for non-medical use will be excluded.
